This project reconsiders the common infill building pattern, where the yard and building are separate. Instead, it adopts a central courtyard inspired by traditional houses in Iran.
creating an inward-looking design that responds to cultural and climatic needs.
Located at the end of a narrow alley and surrounded by buildings, the house has limited exposure to the outside. The courtyard creates an active private open space that seamlessly connects the interior and exterior. It also enhances security, a key client concern, by placing built spaces around it.
Balconies between enclosed spaces strengthen the indoor-outdoor connection, offering a dynamic living experience.
