This private residential renovation project focuses on improving the overall quality of living through the enhancement of natural light, ventilation, spatial openness, and visual connectivity. Working within the limitations of the existing structure, the design strategy reconsiders the internal organization of the residence to create a more functional and contemporary living environment.
By selectively removing walls and reorganizing the plan layout, previously underutilized and inefficient areas were transformed into functional living spaces. One of the key interventions was the conversion of an unusable upper-level area into a fully functional third bedroom, allowing the residence to better accommodate the needs of family life without expanding the building footprint.
The redesign also revitalized neglected areas such as the rooftop, transforming it into an active and usable extension of the living space. This intervention not only increased the functional capacity of the house but also strengthened the relationship between interior and exterior spaces.
The new spatial arrangement improves natural airflow and allows daylight to penetrate deeper into the interior, creating a brighter, more open, and airy atmosphere. Carefully framed views and stronger connections to outdoor spaces further enhance the sense of comfort and livability.
Overall, the project demonstrates how thoughtful spatial reconfiguration and minimal architectural interventions can unlock the hidden potential of an existing residence, transforming constrained and unused areas into vibrant, practical, and meaningful spaces.
